Project: NorthConnex

Civil Infrastructure - tunnelling and roadworks

3D Safety is working with Lendlease Engineering and Bouygues Construction to provide People and Plant Onboarding solutions for the NorthConnex Project.

NorthConnex is a nine kilometre tunnel that will link the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 Motorway at West Pennant Hills, removing around 5,000 trucks off Pennant Hills Road each day.

NorthConnex which will be completed in mid 2020, will be the longest and deepest road tunnel in Australia.

This project comprises the construction of dual road tunnels, approximately 9km in length, beneath Pennant Hills Road and the Northern Railway Line linking the M1 and M2 Motorways with an estimated project cost of $3 billion.

3D Safety is being utilised on the NorthConnex project for:

  • Worker onboarding, online orientation, printing site access cards, paperless site inductions
  • Manage worker authorisation to perform high risk work
  • Manage worker approval to operate plant
  • Plant onboarding and spot auditing
  • Site access management across a complex project consisting of 26 sites and 59 zones
  • Emergency evacuation functions and notifications

3D Safety changed the game with insights and data from across the project.
